For the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival, stay as close to Central as your budget allows. The Salisbury - YMCA of Hong Kong and Ibis Hong Kong Central & Sheung Wan Hotel are good value for food lovers watching their spending. Cordis, Hong Kong and Harbour Grand Hong Kong Hotel suit couples who want a hotel with more services to come back to after long evenings of tasting.
Who this list is for
This list of Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival Hong Kong hotels is for couples and pairs of friends planning a short trip around the festival’s opening nights. It suits travelers who want to spend evenings at the harbourfront booths and the rest of the trip trying the city’s restaurants. If you are traveling with children or want a resort stay, the notes below also point out which hotels in our search don’t suit a festival trip.
Why rooms sell out during the festival
The Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival is a harbourfront food and drink event with more than 300 booths. After it ends, a citywide Wine & Dine Month brings special menus and offers. So the city fills with two groups: short-break visitors who come for the festival and diners who stay on for the restaurant deals. Both add to Hong Kong’s normal visitor traffic. Expect nights around the opening to be in demand, especially at hotels close to the venue. If your dates are fixed, book your hotel first.
Where to stay: the area around the venue
The festival is held at the Central Harbourfront Event Space in Central. A hotel in or near Central keeps the trip home short, which matters more than usual when the evening involves wine. Hotels in Kowloon or farther out can still work, but plan your route back before you book. Don’t judge a hotel only by its listed distance from the city center. Check it on a map against the venue.
How we picked
We looked up Agoda partner search data on October 10, 2026, for a two-night stay for two adults, checking in on the festival’s opening day. We compared review scores and number of reviews, star rating, distance from the city center, breakfast, free Wi-Fi, check-in and check-out times, and each hotel’s place in the price order. Prices change all the time, so the table on this page shows live prices. This article only compares hotels against each other, without quoting amounts.
Hotel notes
The Salisbury - YMCA of Hong Kong
Why: At 0.3 km, it was the closest hotel to the city center in our search, and it sat toward the lower end of the price order. The Salisbury had a review score of 8.7 from 19,438 reviews at lookup time, and it was listed as a 4-star hotel at lookup time. The rate we found included breakfast, and Wi-Fi is free.
Good for: Couples on a budget who want a central base and breakfast before a day of eating out.
Caveats: Check-out is at 11:00 AM, which can feel early after a late festival night. The building dates from 1925 and was renovated in 2013, so check the room category and view on the listing.
Ibis Hong Kong Central & Sheung Wan Hotel
Why: This was the lowest-priced option in our set at lookup time. It is on Des Voeux Road West, on the Central and Sheung Wan side. It had a review score of 8.3 from 24,350 reviews at lookup time. The rate we found included breakfast, and Wi-Fi is free. Check-in starts at 2:00 PM, the earliest in our search. The hotel description also mentions a ticket service that can help reserve tables at restaurants, which is useful on a food trip.
Good for: Travelers on a budget who mainly need a simple place to sleep near the festival area.
Caveats: It was listed as a 3.5-star hotel at lookup time, so expect a budget-chain stay with fewer facilities than the full-service hotels here. Check the room type and beds for two adults before paying.
Cordis, Hong Kong
Why: Cordis had the highest review score in our set at lookup time: 8.9 from 15,800 reviews. It belongs to Langham Hotels International, has 665 rooms, and was renovated in 2015. According to its listing, it offers express check-in or check-out, a concierge service, and airport transfers. The rate we found included breakfast, Wi-Fi is free, and check-out is at noon.
Good for: Couples who want a full-service hotel and a later check-out after festival evenings.
Caveats: It was near the top of the price order in our search. It is 2.4 km from the city center, so plan your trip to Central ahead of time.
Harbour Grand Hong Kong Hotel
Why: With 828 rooms, it is one of the larger hotels in our search, so it is worth checking when smaller hotels sell out. It had a review score of 8.4 from 15,130 reviews at lookup time. The rate we found included breakfast, Wi-Fi is free, and the front desk offers express check-in or check-out. It sat in the middle of the price order.
Good for: Travelers who want a full-service hotel without paying at the top of this set.
Caveats: It is on Oil Street, 2.2 km from the city center, so check the route to the venue. It opened in 2009, and no later renovation is listed.
Royal Plaza Hotel
Why: Royal Plaza had the most reviews in our search, with a score of 8.7 from 59,007 reviews at lookup time. It has 699 rooms, sits on Prince Edward Road West in Kowloon, and was renovated in 2013. The rate we found included breakfast, Wi-Fi is free, and you can book airport transfers in advance.
Good for: Travelers who want an established hotel with many reviews and don’t mind staying in Kowloon.
Caveats: It was the highest-priced option in our set at lookup time, and it is 2.9 km from the city center. Check-out is at 11:00 AM.
The Cityview - Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong
Why: The Cityview was renovated in 2023. It had a review score of 8.5 from 26,891 reviews at lookup time and sat in the lower half of the price order. It is on Waterloo Road in Kowloon, 1.8 km from the city center. Wi-Fi is free, and the whole hotel is smoke-free.
Good for: Non-smokers who want a recently renovated room and plan to eat breakfast out, which suits a food trip.
Caveats: The rate we found did not include breakfast. It was listed as a 4-star hotel at lookup time. Because it is in Kowloon, you will cross the harbour to reach the venue.
Also in our search
Nina Hotel Tsuen Wan West, 10 km from the city center in the New Territories, also came up in our search. So did Disney Explorers Lodge on Lantau Island, 13.5 km out. Both are too far from Central for a festival trip, and Disney Explorers Lodge suits a theme park visit better.
