For anyone asking where to stay for the Phuket King’s Cup Regatta, start with Kata Beach and the south-west coast, where the racing is based. None of the eight hotels in our Agoda search is in that area, so for most spectators, supporters and couples the practical pick is a Patong hotel with breakfast included, such as Hotel Clover Patong Phuket or Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort, with transport to Kata booked in advance. Sailors on a budget should look at Sleep with Me Hotel Design Hotel at Patong or Lub d Phuket Patong, a hostel where you need to check the room type.
Who this list is for
This guide is for sailors, crew members, shore teams and spectators who want a short, checked list of Phuket King’s Cup Regatta hotels. It suits travelers who are happy to drive or take a transfer to Kata Beach in exchange for more choice, and couples who want to watch some racing during a wider Phuket break. If staying right by the race base matters most, search the Kata Beach area first and treat this list as your backup.
How we picked
We used Agoda partner search data, looked up on October 23, 2026, for a two-night stay for two adults, checking in on the regatta’s expected opening day. We compared eight properties on review score, number of reviews, star class, whether breakfast and free Wi-Fi came with the searched rate, location by street address, and where each one sat in the price order of the search. Rates are not quoted here; the live table on this page shows current prices. The regatta runs over several days and our two nights cover only its start, so anyone staying longer should search their own dates.
About the regatta and its schedule
Billed as Asia’s largest sailing regatta, the King’s Cup has been held each year since 1987 in honor of the King of Thailand. Racing is based at Kata Beach, with the action out on the waters off south-west Phuket. The upcoming schedule is an estimate and is not final, so check the official announcement before you book flights and rooms. The date box on this page is updated separately.
Why regatta rooms go fast
A regatta keeps sailors, crews and shore teams on the island for several nights, often as a group, while spectators head for the same stretch of coast. Rooms near Kata Beach with breakfast, parking and space for kit bags are naturally in demand, so people who book later tend to spread out across the island. Every hotel in our search was outside the race area.
Choosing an area
Kata Beach and south-west Phuket
This is where the racing is based, so check it first if you are sailing or want to watch from the shore. Our search returned no properties here, so search the area directly and book early.
Patong
Six of the eight hotels in our search are in Patong, so this is where you will find the most choice. It suits spectators and couples, but book transport to Kata Beach in advance.
Naiyang and Koh Yao Yai
Panphuree Residence in Naiyang and Santhiya on Koh Yao Yai, in Phang-nga Province, complete the list. Ask how long the journey to Kata Beach takes before you book either one.
