Who this list is for

This guide is for two adults planning a short luxury stay in Phuket. It gives you a shortlist based on real availability, not brochure language. It suits couples choosing between a secluded island resort and a base closer to Patong or the city center. It also suits travelers who would rather weigh location, room type and guest feedback than scroll through dozens of listings. If you are comparing Phuket luxury hotels and resorts for a long weekend, start here.

How we picked

We pulled results from Agoda partner search data on October 7, 2026. The search was for a two-night stay from November 6 to November 8, 2026, for two adults. From the luxury results, we compared eight hotels on:

  • distance from the city center
  • property details such as room count and renovation year
  • where each hotel sat in the rate order within this set
  • guest review scores and review volume as shown at lookup time

Every hotel we compared had a 5-star rating at lookup time, so this list also works as a quick filter for Phuket 5 star hotels. Every offer we saw included breakfast and free Wi-Fi. We do not quote prices in this article because rates change often. The live table on this page shows current figures. The scores and review counts below are what we saw at lookup time and may have changed.

Hotel notes

Santhiya Koh Yao Yai Resort & Spa

Why it made the list: at lookup time, Santhiya had the highest review score in this set, 9.0 from 6,818 reviews. The 138-room resort is on Koh Yao Yai in Phang-nga Province, 31.1 km from the city center. It opened in 2012 and was renovated in 2015.

Best for: couples who want a true island escape and are happy to stay put once they arrive.

Caveats: the listing says guests must take the resort’s speedboat to and from Ao Po Grand Marina. Plan your arrival and departure around the boat times, especially on flight days. Checkout is 11:30 AM. Santhiya sat near the top of this set’s rate order. It is not the right base if you want to explore other parts of Phuket every day.

Kalima Resort & Spa

Why it made the list: at lookup time, Kalima had the second-highest review score in this set, 8.8 from 3,071 reviews. The 177-room resort is on Prabaramee Road in Patong, Kathu, 3.7 km from the city center. It opened in 2012 and was renovated in 2021.

Best for: travelers who want a resort setting with Patong close by.

Caveats: Kalima sat at the top of this set’s rate order. Its 11:00 AM checkout was the earliest of the hotels we compared. If you have a late flight, ask about luggage storage or late checkout when you book.

Oceanfront Beach Resort

Why it made the list: at lookup time, Oceanfront Beach Resort scored 8.6 from 3,347 reviews, the third-highest score in this set. It is 3.2 km from the city center and sat in the middle of the rate order.

Best for: travelers who want a strong alternative without booking at the top of this set’s rate order.

Caveats: our search data had less detail for this hotel than for the others. Check the exact location, beach access and room layout on the listing before you book. Do not assume beachfront access from the name alone.

Phuket Graceland Resort & Spa

Why it made the list: at lookup time, Graceland scored 8.5 from 9,616 reviews, the largest number of reviews in this set. The 600-room resort is on Thaweewong Road, 1.7 km from the city center. It opened in 2005 and was renovated in 2019.

Best for: travelers who want a large, full-service resort with concierge help and tour booking on site, and an easy base for getting around.

Caveats: with 600 rooms, expect pools and breakfast to be busy at peak times. Ask for a quieter room if that matters to you. Graceland sat in the middle of this set’s rate order.

Crest Resort & Pool Villas

Why it made the list: if you are looking for Phuket luxury hotel villas, this is the only hotel in this set with pool villas in its name. It has 144 rooms on Meun-Ngern Road at Tri Trang Beach, 2.8 km from the city center. It scored 8.3 from 5,823 reviews at lookup time, the lowest score of the eight hotels we compared, though from a large review volume.

Best for: couples who want a private pool and a smaller property.

Caveats: our data did not list opening or renovation years. Not every room at a villa resort is a villa, so check that the room type you choose includes a private pool.

Splash Beach Resort Phuket

Why it made the list: Splash Beach Resort sat at the lowest end of this set’s rate order. It scored 8.4 from 8,074 reviews at lookup time. It is an Accor resort with 583 rooms in Mai Khao, Thalang, 25.5 km from the city center.

Best for: travelers who want a large chain resort away from the city center and care most about value among these luxury hotels.

Caveats: because it is far from the city center, you will need taxis or transfers for day trips, so allow extra travel time. As a large property, it can feel busy.

Also worth a look

M Social Hotel Phuket is the closest hotel in this set to the city center, at 0.5 km. It has 418 rooms and was renovated in 2023. The Nature Phuket opened in 2018, has 300 rooms and lists an address on Prabaramee Road at North Patong Beach. Both sat toward the lower end of this set’s rate order.

How to choose

Start with location, because on a short stay it shapes every day.

  • Island seclusion: Santhiya, if you are fine with the speedboat transfer.
  • Near Patong: Kalima or The Nature Phuket.
  • Close to the city center: M Social Hotel Phuket or Phuket Graceland Resort & Spa.
  • Tri Trang Beach area: Crest Resort & Pool Villas.
  • Mai Khao, far from the center: Splash Beach Resort Phuket.

Next, weigh each review score against its review volume as shown at lookup time. In this set at lookup time, a higher score from fewer reviews and a slightly lower score from many reviews could both point to a dependable stay. Read recent guest comments to see whether guests describe the same experience.

If you want Phuket luxury hotels on the beach, read the address and property description closely. Several addresses in this list mention beach areas, but our data does not confirm direct beachfront access for any hotel. Check maps and photos before you commit.

Finally, decide what luxury means for this trip: a private pool villa, an island hideaway or a large resort with lots of services. That choice will narrow the list faster than any single number.

Booking checklist

  • Free cancellation: check whether your rate is refundable and note the cancellation deadline before your November dates.
  • Taxes and fees: confirm whether the total shown includes taxes and service charges before you pay.
  • Room type: our data did not list room types. Confirm the bed setup, view and occupancy for two adults, and whether a villa includes a private pool.
  • Breakfast: every offer we saw included breakfast, but confirm it is part of the exact rate you choose.
  • Transfers: for Santhiya, confirm speedboat times from Ao Po Grand Marina. For Mai Khao and other distant hotels, arrange airport transport in advance.
  • Check-in and checkout: most hotels here list 3:00 PM check-in, and M Social lists 2:00 PM. Checkout ranges from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
