For most families, the practical choice is a Hong Kong family hotel close to the city centre. Holiday Inn Golden Mile By IHG and The Salisbury - YMCA of Hong Kong are both within 0.3 km of it, and Cordis, Hong Kong is the higher-end city pick. If Disneyland is the reason for the trip, book Disney Explorers Lodge; if budget comes first, start with The Cityview - Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong, and whichever you choose, check that your room type sleeps the whole family before you pay.

Who this list is for

This guide to Hong Kong family accommodation is for parents who want a short list of 4-star or higher hotels to compare before booking. It suits families mixing sightseeing with a theme park, families on early or late flights, and anyone working out whether three or four people can share one room. Our data does not confirm pools, kids’ clubs or play areas at any hotel here, so check each hotel’s own facility list if they matter to you.

How we picked

We built this list from Agoda partner search data looked up on October 25, 2026, for a two-night stay from November 25 to 27, 2026, for two adults. We compared what the data showed at lookup time: guest review scores, distance from the city centre, whether breakfast was included in the offer, free Wi-Fi, check-in and check-out times, and each hotel’s place in the price order. We also read each property description for details such as airport transfers and laundry.

Because the search was for two adults, it does not confirm child rates, extra beds or whether a room sleeps three or four. Live prices appear in the table on this page and can change.

Before you book: room limits for families of three and four

Hong Kong hotel rooms are often compact, and many standard rooms are set up for two adults. A Hong Kong hotel for a family of 4 usually means one of three options: a room type labelled family, quad or suite; two separate rooms; or two connecting rooms.

  • Connecting rooms share an internal door, so parents can reach the children’s room without going into the corridor.
  • Adjoining rooms sit side by side but have no internal door.
  • Both are usually a request, not a guarantee, so ask the hotel to confirm in writing.

Child policies vary by hotel. Some let children stay free only up to a set age, some charge for extra beds or cots, and some count older children as adults for occupancy. Enter every guest and each child’s age when you search, then read the child and extra-bed policy on the booking page.

The shortlist, hotel by hotel

Cordis, Hong Kong: the higher-end city stay

Cordis is on Shanghai Street, 2.4 km from the city centre, and belongs to Langham Hotels International. At lookup time it was rated 5 stars and shared the top review score in our search, 8.9 from 15,856 reviews. Its description mentions airport transfers and express check-in and check-out, which help when you arrive with tired children. Breakfast was included in the offer we saw, and Wi-Fi is free.

Good for: families who want a polished city hotel and don’t mind paying more.

Caveats: it sat near the top of our price order, and our data does not confirm family rooms or kids’ facilities. Check-in is 3:00 PM and check-out is 12:00 PM.

Disney Explorers Lodge: for a Disneyland-focused trip

The lodge is inside Hong Kong Disneyland Resort on Lantau Island, 13.5 km from the city centre. At lookup time it was rated 5 stars with a review score of 8.9 from 14,789 reviews. Breakfast was included in the offer we saw, and Wi-Fi is free. If you want a Hong Kong Disneyland hotel family room, start here.

Good for: families whose trip centres on park days.

Caveats: it was the highest in our price order, and sightseeing means longer trips into town. Check-out is 11:00 AM. Our data has no property description for this hotel, so check the maximum occupancy and what is included before you pay.

The Salisbury - YMCA of Hong Kong: central and practical

The Salisbury is at 41 Salisbury Road, 0.3 km from the city centre. At lookup time it was rated 4 stars with a review score of 8.7 from 19,562 reviews. Its description lists a laundromat, laundry service and room service, all useful on a family trip. Breakfast was included in the offer we saw, and Wi-Fi is free.

Good for: families who want to walk into the centre without moving to the top of the price order.

Caveats: check-out is 11:00 AM, earlier than at several hotels on this list.

Holiday Inn Golden Mile By IHG: closest to the centre

At 50 Nathan Road, this IHG hotel was 0.1 km from the city centre, the closest in our search. At lookup time it was rated 4 stars with a review score of 8.6 from 15,485 reviews. Its description mentions pre-bookable airport transfers, express check-in and check-out, and luggage storage. Breakfast was included in the offer we saw, and Wi-Fi is free.

Good for: families who want a familiar chain hotel right in the centre and an airport transfer booked in advance.

Caveats: it sat in the middle of our price order. Check-out is 12:00 PM. Check the occupancy for your room type.

Royal Plaza Hotel: a large Kowloon option

Royal Plaza has 699 rooms and is at 193 Prince Edward Road West in Kowloon, 2.9 km from the city centre. At lookup time it was rated 5 stars with a review score of 8.7 from 59,156 reviews, the largest review count in our search. Its description mentions pre-bookable airport transfers, on-site parking and luggage storage. Breakfast was included in the offer we saw, and Wi-Fi is free.

Good for: families who want a large hotel that sat below Cordis and Disney Explorers Lodge in our price order.

Caveats: it is further from the centre than the Nathan Road and Salisbury Road picks, and check-out is 11:00 AM.

The Cityview - Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong: our value pick

The Cityview is at 23 Waterloo Road in Kowloon, 1.8 km from the city centre, and was the lowest in our price order. At lookup time it was rated 4 stars with a review score of 8.5 from 27,004 reviews. It was renovated in 2023, the most recent renovation year in our data. Smoking is prohibited throughout the hotel, and Wi-Fi is free.

Good for: families on a budget and parents who prefer a smoke-free building.

Caveats: breakfast was not included in the offer we saw, so plan meals elsewhere or pick a rate that includes it. Check-out is 12:00 PM.

B P International, at No.8 Austin Road, is 0.7 km from the city centre. It sat in the lower half of our price order and lists a laundromat. Nina Hotel Tsuen Wan West, at 8 Yeung Uk Road in the New Territories, is 10 km out, and our data did not show free Wi-Fi there. At lookup time both had lower review scores than the six picks above.

Which area suits your family

  • City centre: Holiday Inn Golden Mile (0.1 km), The Salisbury (0.3 km) and B P International (0.7 km) keep walks short for small legs.
  • A little further out: The Cityview (1.8 km), Cordis (2.4 km) and Royal Plaza (2.9 km) mean a longer trip into the centre.
  • Lantau Island for Disneyland: Disney Explorers Lodge puts you inside the resort.
  • New Territories: Nina Hotel Tsuen Wan West suits families who don’t mind longer rides.

This shortlist covers the city centre, Kowloon and Lantau. If Ocean Park, on the south side of Hong Kong Island, is your main day out, compare hotels closer to it separately. Our data does not list the nearest MTR station for each hotel, so check the walk to the station on a map before you book.

How to choose

  • Park days first: Disney Explorers Lodge.
  • Sightseeing with short walks: Holiday Inn Golden Mile or The Salisbury.
  • A higher-end stay: Cordis, or Royal Plaza if you want something lower in the price order.
  • Budget first: The Cityview, then B P International.
  • Early arrival: check-in is 3:00 PM at every hotel in our search, so ask about luggage storage or early check-in.
  • Late flight home: a 12:00 PM check-out gives you an extra hour compared with 11:00 AM.

Wherever you stay, a child-friendly hotel in Hong Kong comes down to the room: enough beds, enough space and a child policy that fits your children’s ages.

  • Breakfast: check whether breakfast is included and whether it covers children.
